The Best Life – Always Great When Living His Way

Today’s Reading: Proverbs 14:26-32

Today’s Verse: He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly. Proverbs 14:29 KJV

“Hasty of spirit.”

This generally means one is acting or speaking quickly. That they are doing it without sufficient thought or reflection.

It describes a person who is quick to react emotionally. It is often with anger and without considering the consequences of their actions or words.

There is a lack of self-control and patience. They lack wisdom, and the ability to judge well.

In the Bible, being hasty is often seen as a negative trait. It leads to making poor decisions. It leads to less than desirable outcomes.

We know the term, “Think before you speak.”

T.H.I.N.K – Is it True? Is it Helpful? Is it inspiring? Is it Necessary? Is it Kind?

As believers, we ask ourselves these things according to the Word.

We seek to obtain Spiritual guidance and understanding.

We know that our Father wants us to be wise in all our ways.

In the Book of Proverbs we can find wisdom.

The guidance we need to deal with people behaving foolishly and other situations we face in life.

The Father has told us, “A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident” (Proverbs 14:16 KJV).

That “He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly” (Proverbs 14:29 KJV).

He speaks to us all day long.

Reminding us that, “He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly … but the prudent are crowned with knowledge” (Proverbs 14:17-18 KJV).

“He who guards his mouth protects his life” (Proverbs 13:3 NKJV).

So that the next time something unpleasant hits our lives, we know how to pray and ask the Holy Spirt to help guide us through it.

Prayer is the key; faith unlocks the door.

With the Lord on our side, we will always be victorious in the end.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, there will always be something that causes us anger. We all have our ways of thinking, feeling, and acting. But we know that You want us to be slow to wrath. To think before we act in most situations. This is how we get a greater understanding of how to handle things. We know this can be hard to do at times. That is why we pray that You will continue to help us to manage how we speak, think and act. Fill us with Your wisdom.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
