Today’s Reading: 1 Peter 1:1-7 / John 14:1-6

Today’s Verse: To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you. 1 Peter 1:4 KJV

When we see the word inheritance, we know it as the passing down of something from someone who is no longer living.

It is the collection of assets to be passed down through generations.

We will have our moment of sadness. But will also rejoice in knowing that they are in God’s hands. The hands that have been keeping us every day of our lives.

In this passage, inheritance refers to a priceless, eternal, and secure reward kept in heaven for believers (1 Peter 1:4 KJV).

It is described as incorruptible. It is not subject to decay, corruption or destruction. Unlike the things of earth, it will never fade or lose its value.

It is undefiled. It is pure and free from moral stains or impurities. It is not stained by sin or the imperfections of this world.

It never fades away. It is everlasting and will never lose its beauty, joy or significance.

This inheritance is a gift from God. It is received through faith in Jesus Christ. It is a guarantee of eternal life. It is securely stored and protected by God. It is not subject to loss or theft.

He is just awaiting all believers.

While we yet live, we need to make sure of our heavenly reservations.

It is not too late for us to put our trust in the Lord. Asking for His forgiveness and the cleansing of our sins.

Never forgetting that He has told us, “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you” (John 14:2 KJV).

He is just waiting for the day that we have completed His plan for us.

What a day of rejoicing that will be.

We will be singing praises and celebrating with the Lord for all eternity.

What are you waiting for?

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we know there is a place reserved in Heaven for all who believed. It is an inheritance that will never lose its value. It will always be pure and free from moral stains or impurities. It is everlasting and will never lose its beauty or joy. We humble ourselves before You. Thankful for the eternal life You freely give us. May others come to know You. To understand that it is not too soon to plan for eternity. That now is the time. Thank You for holding a spot for us in Heaven.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
