Today’s Reading: 1 John 4:7-13
Today’s Verse: Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. 1 John 4:7 KJV
Close relationships.
A cherished connection to another person.
They have a strong bond of love to one another.
Faithful friends share deep emotions, thoughts, and desires.
This is the type of relationship we should have with God.
The Spirit of God is the Spirit of love.
He is perfect and holy.
He will always be there for us.
It is His desire that we have a personal relationship with Him.
But human sinfulness has made this seem impossible.
The Word says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23 KJV).
Meaning. we have gone against His perfect authority.
We have chosen not to have a close relationship with Him.
That we have let sin take a higher place in our lives.
He has told us that the “wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23 KJV).
We inherited this sinful nature from Adam.
“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned” (Romans 5:12 KJV).
It is good to know that we can be forgiven.
It will not be by our good works.
It will not be because of our moral values.
God alone had the solution regarding our situations.
His solution is to change our human nature.
The change was made through the perfect sacrifice of the Savior.
He was the only One without a sinful nature.
He gave His life, so all our sins could be forgiven.
So we could have a close relationship with the Father.
When we acknowledge our relationship with His Son blessings flow.
The greatest, His gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
The Father has done everything to make us a part of His family.
He wants us to experience His love.
Today is the day to receive Jesus Christ.
To make Him your personal Lord and Savior.
Your closest friend.
To discover the true gifts of freedom, satisfaction, and joy that God has for us.
Something we all desire in our lives.
They can only be found in Him.
Let us “love one another: for love is of God and [we are] born of God, and knoweth God.” (1 John 4:7 KJV).
The greatest relationships known to man.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we all have close connections with someone. We desire to be there for each other. But our greatest connection is with You. You are always there for us. Showing us what it means to get and give the right kind of love. The Kind that leads to freedom, satisfaction and joy that can only be found in You. Thank You for everything You are doing in our lives.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
