Leprosy is a disease that mainly affects the skin, the peripheral nerves, mucosal surfaces of the upper respiratory tract and the eyes.
It is known to occur at all ages ranging from early infancy to a very old age.
In this chapter, as Jesus was passing through a certain village there were ten men who had this disease.
They stood away from Him but cried out in loud voices for Him to have mercy on them.
When Jesus heard them, He instructed them to go show themselves to the priest and along the way He blessed them by cleansing them of their disease.
But only one of them, when he saw the blessing he received, called out thanking the Lord for what He had done for him.
We all can have a sense of our own spiritual leprosy which should cause us to be very humble whenever we draw near to Christ.
We should be like the one leper and be very humble in praising God with an abundance of thanksgivings, as well as in our prayers.
Looking back and remembering He was the One who healed us and with a loud voice He should be glorified.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, an outward expression of thanks and gratitude is something we all should show. We don’t want to be like the nine lepers and only get the outward cure, but like the one leper who got the cure and a spiritual blessing. Thank You for the healings we have received. We glorify Your name Father.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
