As Darkness Passes, See This Spectacular Light Easily Shining

Today’s Reading: 1 John 2:3-11

Today’s Verse: Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth. 1 John 2:8 KJV

Many of us can remember a time when the day could go dark because low, steel-colored clouds filled the sky.

It had it where the atmosphere was so dim that we had to turn the lights on.

Sometimes, within minutes, the house would suddenly fill with light.

When we looked out the window, we could see the wind pushing the clouds across the sky.

The sky was being cleared so the shine of the sun could be seen.

The same holds true with our lives.

We have our moments, but by grace they only last for a moment.

The Apostle John wrote these words to believers as a message of encouragement.

“The darkness is passing and the true light is already shining” (1 John 2:8 NIV).

It is good to know that it still holds true to this day.

He also told us that “He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him (1 John 2:10 KJV).

Hatred is associated with darkness.

It is disorienting and takes away our sense of moral direction.

We all know that loving others is not always so easy.

But our frustration, forgiveness and faithfulness help with maintaining our deep connection with the love and light of God.

As Christians, in all areas of our lives we will always choose love over hate.

Declaring to all who will listen, “This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all” (1 John 1:5 KJV).

Showing the world that we have a true relationship with the Father.

That He is the true light that shineth in our lives.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, living in the light of Your love is the greatest thing to have. It will always help us remain steadfast despite the darkness that the world tries to bring our way. It shows others that we can battle any form of spiritual darkness that comes our way. Because You are the Light of victory that shines over us. Help us to continue to live in the light of Your grace and mercy.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
