To ascend is the act of moving to a higher or more powerful position.
Something we strive to do in our careers or ambitions in life.
Keeping in mind that there are steps we have to take to achieve our goals.
Christ is our prime example of what it means to ascend.
He started at an entry level.
Endured the sufferings and agonies placed on Him for our sakes.
Instead of letting it keep Him down, He rose.
Rose with the power to bless us before He took on His new position in Heaven.
He did all this to show us that in order for us to achieve our goal, which is to make it to Heaven, there will be some times of suffering and sorrow.
That just like He did with the disciples, He is blessing us.
So that in the end we would ascend to Heaven.
Our ultimate goal.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, we thank You for showing us how to ascend to our place in Heaven. We have joy in giving You glory. May we stand steadfast in all our sufferings and sorrows. Knowing that being in Heaven, with You, is the ultimate goal.
