Today’s Reading: 1 Corinthians 2:1-5 / 2 Corinthians 4:1-6
Today’s Verse: For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. 1 Corinthians 2:2 KJV
Convincing others that Jesus exists can sometimes be a struggle.
We do not want to get into an argument with anyone.
We simply wish to talk about the amazing life and teachings of Jesus.
Hoping they have a desire to learn more about Him.
There will come a time when others really listen.
There will be some who do not.
But we should not be discouraged. Praying that one day that person would grow in faith.
That they determine in their hearts to follow Jesus. To become missionaries for Christ too.
We are to remain strong in faith.
Our ministering is better understood when we read the Bible. Seeing how other called to minister did things.
The Apostle Paul is one example.
He said that when we tell others about the gospel of Jesus Christ, we should set forth the truth plainly (2 Corinthians 4:2 KJV).
That we “preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake” (2 Corinthians 4:5 KJV).
He went on to say, “For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified” (1 Corinthians 2:2 KJV).
Paul’s standards on evangelism was clear.
He told them he was not claiming to know everything. But what he did know was about Christ and His dying on the cross.
The same applies to each of us. We will never know everything, but we do know something about Jesus.
That through the reading of the Bible we have gained knowledge about Him. About the sacrifice He made for us all. The reason for our belief.
When nothing but Christ crucified is plainly preached, there is a Divine power that comes with it.
The most compelling and effective story we can tell.
Christ being risen is the reason for our witness.
Telling others about the blessings that come when we put our faith in Him.
It puts Christ in the center.
We want others to believe and receive salvation for their souls.
We all should want to talk about who Jesus is and His life.
Make this one of the goals in your life.
You will be glad that you did.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we desire to be used in the lives of others. Please continue to remind us to talk about who Jesus is. To talk about His life and teachings. That we are sharing the facts about His amazing life. Praying that what we say is received and leads to that person receiving You in their heart. Jesus is the reason for our witness. He is the center of all our hopes and joys. We are grateful for all that He is doing in our lives and want others to know about Him. He is amazing.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
