Redeemed: The Most Powerful Works Ever Seen of Man

Read: John 9:1-12

Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. John 9:3 KJV

To be blind means that someone cannot see.

Some are considered legally blind because they do not have the visual acuity of 20/200.

Which means even with glasses or contacts they can only see the first letter of the eye chart.

In the Bible we read about the possibility of being spiritually blind.

It means “being spiritually lost.”

In this passage the disciples had a question about the man who had been born blind.

They wanted to know “Who sinned?”

Was it this man or his parent (John 9:2 KJV).

“Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him” (John 9:3 KJV).

The Lord was not saying that because this individual was physically blind, they were spiritually lost.

He is saying that those of us who are unable to see the Truth of the Word are just as blind as those who are physically blind.

It means we lack the awareness and understanding to be shown regarding the position we hold in our spiritual journey.

That His blessing him to see is letting us know that it is not too late for us to recognize who He is in our lives.

A reminder that Christians are not to act in a way that would lead non-believers astray.

“That the works of God should be made manifest in [us]” in all that we do. (John 9:3 KJV).

The Father cares about our well-being.

He wants us to realize that the things we face in life can lead to a breakdown in our faith.

We need to acknowledge our sins.

All the things that cause us to be blind to His ways.

Praying that the Lord will help us to get back on the right track.

Acknowledging that sometimes things happen for the glory of God.

A way of manifesting all the glorious things He can do in our lives.

We will no longer be blinded by the things of this world.

The Truth will always be found in the Word.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, our prayer today is simple. We know that when we suffer, it is wise for us to take inventory of what we are doing. Praying and knowing that the answer You give will be for our good. It will be whatever is best for our lives. In sickness and health, we desire to bring the most glory to Your name. Thank You for always opening our blinded eyes. Making it possible to see the right path we should take.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
