Read: Revelation 4
And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. Revelation 4:8 KJV
The life we choose to live each day prepares us for what is yet to come.
We can have great loss or great gain.
Spiritually, we should all want great gain.
We see this in today’s reading of Revelation Chapter 8.
The Lord had instructed the apostle to write unto the church again.
Because He had more in store for His people.
It was a vision in which the apostle was shown a throne set in Heaven.
That God was on this glorious throne.
How around this throne were twenty-four elders and four beasts.
The four beasts were positioned between the throne and the circle of the elders.
They were standing between God and the people.
It is said that the four beasts represented the true ministers of the gospel because of their place between God and the people.
“They rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come” (Revelation 4:8 KJV).
They gave “glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever” (Revelation 4:9 KJV).
This caused “the four and twenty elders [to] fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne” (Revelation 4:9 KJV).
This Revelation is telling us that life in Heaven will be quite different from our lives here on earth.
Our eternity will not be spent enjoying the recreational activities we have grown to know and love.
That is why our attitudes toward the Lord and our appreciation of Him must be acknowledged all the days of our lives.
Taking the time to read and understand the Word is the best way for us to stay focused on what is right.
Getting us ready for the things to come.
The Father wants us to meet Him in glory.
Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people.
It is described as a place where angels and the redeemed live in the presence of God in all His glory.
A place where all our attention will be focused on praising and worshiping Him.
Acknowledging that His Word is true.
That He has kept us through it all and deserves praise.
Preparing for Heaven while we yet live should be our goal.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we know that we get to choose how we live from day to day. We should not forget that it is preparing us for what is yet in store for our lives. That there can be great loss or great gain. We know that by living according to the Word, there will always be great gain. Here on earth, but especially in Heaven. Please continue to help us to love You and walk in Your way. With You, in Heaven, is where we desire to live.
