Today’s Reading: Ephesians 1:1-8
Today’s Verse: In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. Ephesians 1:7 KJV
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23 KJV).
No one is perfect. We all have made mistakes
We have sinned and failed to meet God’s standard of perfection.
It is wonderful to know that despite all that we have done, we have an opportunity to be freed from sin.
To be victorious over the evil that surrounds us.
In church we used to sing a song called “Power in the Blood.”
It asked the questions; Would you be free from the burden of sin? Would you over evil a victory win? Would you be free from your passion and pride? Would you be whiter, much whiter than snow? Would you do service for Jesus your King? Would you live daily His praises to sing?
It not only asked the questions, but it also told us how it can be done.
It was already done by “the wonder-working power in precious blood of the Lamb.” Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
All we have to do is pray and confess our wrongdoings to the Savior.
Acknowledging that “we have redemption through [His] blood.” That there is “the forgiveness of sins.”
This is not just any redemption. It is one that is “according to the riches of [His] grace” (Ephesians 1:7 KJV).
There is an abundance and generosity of forgiveness shown by God.
As believers we are freed from the penalty and the power of sin through Christ’s atoning death.
Be the one to do service for Jesus your King. Be the one who lives daily His praises to sing.
Our actions, as well as our words, declare the praises of Divine mercy.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we know that Jesus died on the cross. He did it for the redemption of our sins. His death removed the guilt. It canceled the debts owed because of sin. It granted us forgiveness. A forgiveness not earned or deserved. It was a free gift given out of His abundant grace and generosity. Because of His love for us. Thank You for forgiving our sins. We give You all the praise for our salvation. You are a gracious Father.
In Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen
