Better Than Gold

Read: Psalms 119;124-129 KJV

Therefore I love thy commandments above gold; yea, above fine gold. Psalms119:127 KJV

With anything in life, we have to learn how to do some things.

How we learn them and who we learn them from is what makes the difference.

The more we understand what we are suppose to be doing, and follow good instructions, the better off we will be.

Good always comes when we do things the right way.

Following God’s precepts, which are right, shows that we love and esteem God’s law.

That we hate sin, and will not be reconciled to it.

We gain an even greater love when we read and understand the Scriptures.

The psalmist knew what it meant to rely on God’s Word and strive to live according to it.

He stated that he had a love for the instructions he was receiving.

That they had more value than any gold or fine gold in the world.

It is in our best interest to remember Christ became our Surety when he paid our debts by dying on the cross.

Securing all the blessings of salvation to be given to every true believer.

The treasures of the Word of God are great beyond compare.

Let us be like the psalmist and express our love for God’s commandments.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, let us not be the one to say we love God’s commandments more than our worldly interests when we know that isn’t the truth. We want to be the one that keeps the Word in their hearts and express the love You so freely give. A love more precious than gold. A treasure beyond compare.
