Today’s Reading: 2 Corinthians 4:4-15
Today’s Verse: For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:6 KJV
It is not a secret that the problems of life will always be something we think about.
We can find ourselves returning again and again to the same questions that opens up old wounds that never quite heals.
Questioning “why.”
Why does a tornado hit one part of the earth and skip others?
Why do some prayers for strength and healing go unanswered?
The ultimate question being, “Does God care?”
There is only one way to answer that question.
The answer is Jesus.
If He did not care for us, He would not have sent the Savior to rescue a lost world.
In Him, God gave us a face.
The Savior’s death, on our behalf, was to ultimately destroy all pain, sorrow, suffering, and death.
“For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ” (2 Corinthians 4:6 KJV).
In Him we see how God feels about the suffering felt by His children.
The Light of Jesus was the beginning of the first creation. Making it where in the new creation, the light of the Spirit is His first work upon our souls.
As the knowledge of God’s glory was displayed in the face of Christ, let it be seen in our lives.
It is the light that shines in our hearts.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we all have our moments when we question why certain things are happening. No question is wrong. It is a part of human nature. What we must remember is that that through the life, death, and resurrection of the Savior the knowledge of Your glory is seen. That You have made it where Your light can shine in our hearts. A Light that has paved the way for us to live a glorious life. One that can overcome any sins and temptations that come our way. Thank You for letting Your light shine through Christ. We pray others see and receive the knowledge of Your glory.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
