Read: 1 John 4:7-21
Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. 1 John 4:11 KJV
Love is the greatest emotion known to man.
It is an intense feeling of deep affection.
One that shows a great interest and pleasure in something.
We like and enjoy what we do very much.
Taking the time to give unto one another without expecting anything back.
Knowing that we all have our own problems, needs, and desires.
But with love, we never let them be an excuse to keep from loving those around us.
Remembering what the Bible has told us.
” Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another” (1 John 4:11 KJV).
This is the kind of lifestyle we all should be living.
Especially if we are claiming to know and love God.
The Apostle John has told us, “If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?” (1 John 4:20 KJV).
We all can do a self-check.
Asking ourselves: Do we encourage and build up others? (1 Thessalonians 5:11 KJV). Help them mentally (1 John 3:17 KJV). Sacrifice for them? (1 John 3:16 KJV). Refrain from gossiping about them, and being angry with them? (2 Corinthians 12:20 KJV). Are we forgiving (Ephesians 4:32 KJV).
As we grow in Christ we learn to lean on the Word.
The more we do, we prove that we love the Father.
Acknowledging that any sacrifice we make in love is a blessing.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Savior, we know that love is an attitude. One that should be felt in our prayers and when we talk to one another. Your love is always there in our times of sorrow. When our hearts are in despair. Love is faith. Our love for You shows how much we have faith in You. Let Your dwell deeply within us. Defeating all the things that are not like You. Thank You for all the love You continue to show us.
In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
