Laws are guidelines.
They are the instructions that are given to help us do things the right way.
They are put into place to ensure all are doing things the same way.
When they are not followed it causes problems.
No one should want to be found breaking any laws.
God gave Moses the laws as they pertained to all mankind.
Laws we do not want to break.
They were not only in the Old Testament, but in the New Testament as well.
Jesus, who was given the ability to condemn people for their sin, could have used the Ten Commandments to bring man down.
He chose, by grace and truth, to give man a chance to change their ways.
A prime example is one in which He could have embarrassed a Samaritan woman that He met at the watering hole.
He took a good look at her life and explained to her about her situation and how her search for satisfaction had led her into sin.
Because she was now aware of this, Jesus had the opportunity to reveal Himself as the only source of eternal satisfaction.
The only one who could forgive her regarding her sins and show her grace to begin life over.
He was her way to repent of her sins and lead a more beneficial life.
The combination of grace and truth given by Jesus in this situation is what we can experience in our relationship with Him.
We all need to know what things in our lives need to change.
When we invite Jesus into our lives, He will show us the areas where we need to grow, making us become more like Him.
The law of God is holy, just, and good.
We should all strive to learn from and follow them.
His grace prevents us from being overwhelmed by our sins, and His truth prevents us from thinking it isn’t a serious matter.
When we abide by His law, by grace and truth, we are given the chance to receive from Him, by faith, all that will make us wise, strong, holy, useful, and happy.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, we thank You for saving us from the consequences of our sins. Help us to abide by Your law and receive, by faith, all that will show us the grace and truth that only You can give. May we embrace Your corrections and encouragement.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
