Read: Psalms 56
What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.
Psalms 56:3 KJV
Life has its times when we find ourselves in a state of being afraid.
We all have our moments of worrying about something.
Worried that something that we do not desire will happen or be done.
Times of fear are natural.
God has allowed us to feel it.
But He has also let us know that this powerful emotion must be controlled.
That we can either stop it dead in its track or continue to let it cause confusion in our lives.
No one should want to hold on to anything that causes fear.
In today’s passage we read how David is seeking mercy from God while he was surrounded by his enemies.
He was understandably afraid of them.
But he did not give way to them or let it cause him to run.
He was determined to keep his faith in God.
He boldly said, “What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.” (Psalms 56:3 KJV).
By putting his faith in God and praising His Word, he was able to fight against it.
Standing strong on what he knew God could do.
We can find the same help when we find ourselves in a fight against the enemy.
The Bible has told us that God loves us.
We are His children.
In prayer we can talk to the Father.
Through it we obtain the mercy He longs to give us.
Always singing songs of praise for the victory we have already won through Him.
Afraid?
Trust God and remind yourself of His love for you.
The fear may not quickly go away.
But it will when we stay strong.
When we keep trusting God and standing on His Word.
It is the only way to prevent panic and strengthen you to go on.
Never forget that He will always be there to lead, guide, and protect us.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, when I am afraid, I will put my trust in You. I will rest upon Your promises. You have told us that You will always be there to lead, guide and protect us. We know You Word is true. Faith in You is the best remedy to anything that might come against us in our lifetime. Thank You for being there for us through it all.
In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
