And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed. Exodus 3:2 KJV

Fire is an emblem, in Scripture, of the Divine holiness and justice.

Showing the afflictions and trials with which God proves and purifies His people.

That baptism of the Holy Ghost is the way sinful affections are consumed, and the soul changed into the Divine nature and image.

Moses was eighty years old when he made a fiery discovery that would forever change his life.

What he saw was a bush burning without fire to kindle it.

The bush burned, and yet did not burn away.

Instead, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in the flames.

In that moment, God gave Moses a gracious call.

He was called to lead the Israelites out of Egyptian slavery.

Moses returned a ready answer. He was willing to go.

His actions are a reminder to us that the church in every age, under its severest persecutions can be called of God to do His will.

Knowing that we will be kept by the presence of God from being destroyed.

At this moment in life, what might God be calling any of us to do to for His greater purpose?

Will we be willing to go?

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, just like Moses, let an angel grab our attention so we will hear You when You speak to us. No matter our age, let us be willing to do that which You desire of us.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
