His Strong Voice: This is One to Never Ignore

Today’s Reading: Jeremiah 42: 1-9

Today’s Verse: Whether it be good, or whether it be evil, we will obey the voice of the LORD our God, to whom we send thee; that it may be well with us, when we obey the voice of the LORD our God. Jeremiah 42:6 KJV

Throughout our lifetime we will face difficult situations.

It could be our own. It could be someone who needs a shoulder to lean on.

When we seek proper guidance, we must be prepared to receive the response.

In this passage, Johanan desires Jeremiah to ask counsel of God.

The people were asking “That the LORD thy God may shew us the way wherein we may walk, and the thing that we may do” (Jeremiah 42:3 KJV).

In every difficult, doubtful case, we must look to God for direction.

Jeremiah acknowledged their request.

He said, “I will pray unto the LORD your God according to your words; and it shall come to pass, that whatsoever thing the LORD shall answer you, I will declare it unto you; I will keep nothing back from you” (Jeremiah 42:4 KJV).

In faith, we pray to be guided by a spirit of wisdom in our hearts. By the leadings of His Providence.

The people responded that, “Whether it be good, or whether it be evil, we will obey the voice of the LORD our God, to whom we send thee; that it may be well with us, when we obey the voice of the LORD our God” (Jeremiah 42:6 KJV).

They were saying that no matter what, they were going to obey what the Lord would tell them.

There will always be moments in our lives that are hard to understand.

Times when we feel we have done all that we could do. That we have done enough.

It is in these times; we are failing to see all that God has for us.

There will even be times when we hear Him talking to us but are slow to move. Still failing to see all that God has for us.

We cannot expect to receive the same results as those around us who are obedient.

All throughout our lives, we have to wait patiently on His perfect plan.

Always ready to obey Him. Always ready to heed to His every command.

I say to you today, there is no other way.

Simply put, “We must obey!”

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, troubles will always make life hard to bear at times. When we call out to You, let us have an ear to hear. No matter what the response, whether it is good, or whether it is bad, we will obey. We know that all things work together for the good, to them that love You and keep Your commands. Keep us strong in faith. Always ready to obey You.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
