Sacrifice is self-giving in a deep and comprehensive way.
It is giving of the heart and mind.
To show care for a person despite the nature of your connection.
In life or death, being perfectly well in body, soul (mind, will and emotions) and spirit.
Christ is our prime example of what it means to sacrifice.
He offered Himself to be the Savior.
He sacrificed His life for our redemption.
He was both the offeror and the offering.
Jesus did all this in order to show His obedience to the Father and to show His love towards us.
He did all this so we could be pardoned of our sins and to set us free from the punishment of sin.
To the very end, He showed us His never-ending love.
Let us show Him the same love, by being a vessel unto honor.
Sanctified, and ready to be used of the Father.
Prepared unto every good work.
Giving of ourselves for the sake of the Kingdom.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, You were the ultimate sacrifice. The prime example of what love really means. Every Word You have spoken has been out of love. May we willingly give of ourselves and take the time to share Your love with others.
