Hidden: Why Great Attention to Unseen Greater Than Seen

Read: 2 Corinthians 4:13-18 / 1 Peter 1:3-25

While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18 KJV

We all have our different views when it comes to our lives.

Many look to having the monetary things as all they really need.

While there are others who know that monetary things are good, but how they spend eternity is greater.

This one thing is true.

The grace of faith is always an effectual way to keep from fainting in our times of making the right decisions for our lives.

We must know the difference between a temporary life and a permanent life.

When we look at the temporary, we know there are times when we become more concerned with the things of this earth.

So preoccupied that we forget that life is only a time to prepare for eternity.

That when our lives come to an end, it will all remain here.

We will not be taking it with us.

With the permanent, we really recognize the importance of getting ready for eternity.

That by living according to the Word, we are trusting and living for Christ.

Because we know His Word will follow us wherever we go.

In whatever we do.

The Apostle Peter tells us of the advantages of looking at life in terms of eternity.

In 1 Peter 1 he talked about us having a living hope (v3).

Knowing that He will provide for our every need.

An incorruptible inheritance (v.4).

The things of this world will fade away.

What He has for us when it is all said and done, will last forever.

The assurance of spending eternity with God (vv. 5,9).

Our time with Him will never end.

There will be no worries or fears.

And there will be the inexpressible joy (v.8).

Nothing can compare to the joy we will feel when we get to Heaven.

Being able to praise and worship all day long.

A life eternal where we get to walk with the Lord.

We all need to look at our lives to see if they are one of temporary or permanent.

Now is the time to make it permanent and invest in eternity.

To make our future happiness something that is sure.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we know the treasures we have here on earth will not last. That we should be investing in something more permanent. That is where our faith in You must prevail. Because we know what You have for us is eternal. Remembering that You have prepared a place for us. One in which we will dwell. One in which we will enjoy the riches of Your grace. You for helping us to know the difference between temporary and permanent. How now is the time for us to invest in eternity. Thank You Father for all the wisdom and love You show us.

In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
