Musically Satisfying

And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit. Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.
Ephesians 5:18-19 KJV

Drunkenness is the state of being intoxicated.

This means a person is unable to make decisions and give the right responses.

Drunkenness is a sin that leads a person into other evils.

When we are afflicted or weary, we are not to seek to raise our spirits by getting drunk.

No matter how hard it may seem, this is the time when prayer and seeking to be filled with the Holy Spirit is what we need.

We are to be of a sober mind, allowing us to encourage ourselves in psalms, hymns. and spiritual songs.

We are God’s people and have a reason to sing for joy.

To sing and make melody in our hearts to the Lord.

Psalms is our songbook in the Bible. Songs that speak to the many situations we find ourselves in.

In the letter that Paul wrote to the Ephesians, we read the description of life in the Spirit.

That even though we are not always able to or want to sing, even in our times of trials and afflictions, the music of our faith will keep us from sin.

We are forever being renewed, by the Holy Spirit and the songs of Life found in our Lord and Savior.

He has a song for all who will listen.

Are you listening?

Will you sing your song?

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, The Spirit has a song for each of us to sing. No matter our place in life and to promote Your glory, and to fulfil our duties to each other. Let our singing continue to draw us closer to You.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
