Read: Mark 4:35-41
And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. Mark 4:39 KJV
The report of the storm-tossed disciples still has an impact on our lives today.
It teaches us about deliverance.
The sea of life often makes us feel alone.
We have no true idea of what we should do.
That is how the disciples felt when they hit a storm on the waters.
They questioned whether the Lord cared about their circumstance.
They woke Him from His sleep saying, “Master, carest thou not that we perish?” (Mark 4:38 KJV).
“And [Jesus] arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” (Mark 4:39 KJV).
It is good to know all is well because Jesus is in the boat with us, we have nothing to fear.
But just as He questioned the disciples fear and faith, He questions ours (Mark 4:40 KJV).
When we find ourselves in a position where our faith is fading, the Lord is not sleeping.
He is always looking out for us.
He is our guaranteed safety net.
The peace that the Savior gives will continue to satisfy us in our times of need.
It will always produce a great calm in our lives.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Savior, when our faith begins to weaken, but our prayers remains strong. Let us remember that both go hand in hand. That we must overcome our fears and walk all the more with strong faith. That when we have troubled seas, we know we can rest in You. Peace is always ours when put our trust in You. Thank You for the peace, Savior.
In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
