Jeremiah is called the lamenting prophet.
This was because he felt deeply for his people and poured out his expressions of grief to God.
He testified of the gloomier and discouraging parts of his experience, and how he found support and relief. Rising above all that he was going through.
As bad as things may seem, it is by the grace and mercy of God that they are not worse.
God is true to His Word. His compassion towards us never fails. Because of this, we can start each day fresh and renewed.
Afflictions do come but it is our comfort and satisfaction, to hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord. In the end, it works for our good.
As we look ahead to the new year, never forget that God has always been and always will be faithful.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, Thank You for saving us and letting our past mistakes and enemies perish. You are faithful and just to forgive us of our sins. Cleansing us from all unrighteousness. Paving the way for us to find hope in Your everlasting faithfulness. May others come to know of Your unchanging character and dependability.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
