There are times when we will face a loss, experience a hurt, or feel like no one is there for us. No matter how painful our situation may be, our hope should remain secure in the Lord. He is the light in our times of darkness.
The psalmist is encouraging us to put our confidence in God.
Reminding us that we should put our hope in the Lord, who is our helper; ever merciful and mighty; faithful forever.
Though He died on the cross for our sins, and was laid in the grave, His thoughts of love to us did not perish. He rose again to fulfil them.
He is still performing miracles to this day. He grants deliverance to captives bound in the chains of sin and Satan. He opens our eyes to understanding; feeds us with the bread of life for salvation’s sake; and He is the constant Friend of the poor in spirit.
That is why sinners flee to Him, and believers rejoice in Him.
Our hope and happiness are in the Lord, and He shall reign forever.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, Because of Your unchanging love we can find hope in any situation we find ourselves in. Thank You for being our Light in darkness.
