2 Timothy 1:3 KJV
We all have memories or have heard stories of a member of the past generations in our family. Even of people close to your family.
Some have even written journals telling of the things they faced in life.
Things about their family heritage.
The desires they had or have for generations to come.
Showing how they put their trust in God, believed in the Word and prayed constantly for themselves and those they loved.
Paul did something similar when he wrote letters to Timothy, a devoted friend.
He was letting him know what was happening during his imprisonment, because he wasn’t sure if Timothy would be able to make it to him from Rome.
It was his personal journal sharing his emotions, his character and his outlook on life.
His belief that what he preached regarding eternal life with Christ and the blessings bestowed on man were true.
When we look back over our heritage and where the Lord has brought us from, it is a blessing.
A blessing we should be giving glory to God.
He has brought us through many tests and trials, both good and bad.
A WORD OF PRAYER
God, we give you the glory. As believers, of every age, we are thankful for the journals and testimonies that our families have left, but most of all for the journals and testimonies located in the Bible. Testimonies that are the reasons for us to continue on faith’s journey till the end.
