Growing up and even right now, there are board games that the main purpose is to get all your pieces to a home base.
Throughout the games there will be times something occurs that sends you back to an initial starting point.
For some Christians, that is how they view their relationship with the Lord.
They are living a Christian life, something occurs that they sin and they feel they have to start all over again.
If this was true, we would never be secure in our relationship with Christ, because we all sin, everyday, be it in thought or deed.
Paul tells us about the biblical teachings of justification. The act by which God moves a willing person from the state of sin to the state of grace.
Justification does not give us the license to sin.
To continually live in sin shows that we are not serious about changing our ways.
All the more, we will face the loving but stern disciplines of God.
Justification is the change in our condition, moving us from a state of sin to a state of righteousness.
We are true believers, when we repent of our sinful ways and by faith, find peace with God.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, we know that every man is a sinner against God. We stand to be condemned by the law, and we need to be pardoned. Let us repent of our sins and find justification through faith in Your righteousness. Giving us the peace we desire with God. We know that, from start to finish, it all comes through You, Lord.
