Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.

Superstitions can be known as something that is a false conception of causation.
It is the idea that one event, called the cause, leads to another event, called the effect.
It refers to the ability of one variable to impact another.
It is a belief that is maintained despite there being evidence that proves otherwise.
Some examples of superstitions:
Black Cats.
In the Middle Ages, people believed that black cats were witches or that those who had them were.
That if a black cat crossed your path, it brought bad luck.
Pennies.
“Find a penny, pick it up. All day long, you’ll have good luck.”
Finding a penny heads up meant good, That you would have luck on your side.
But if it was tails up, it meant the opposite.
Umbrellas.
It said we should never open an umbrella inside.
Because to open an umbrella before you head outside will rain bad luck on you.
Some will say they are harmless rituals, but in some cases, they may be tied to occult practices.
That is why the Bible warns us against trusting unknown forces.
There are so many things that are working against us behind the scenes.
They are sins that can govern our lives when we let superstitions, and the things of the world take control of thoughts and actions.
The only way to defeat them is by keeping our trust in the Lord.
It is the greatest way for us to reject anything that will lead us down the wrong path.
Remembering that He has told us, “For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee” (Deuteronomy 18:12 KJV).
We want to live by the Word.
Kowing that when we do, He has told us, “Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God” (Deuteronomy 18:13 KJV).
Nothing the world tries to bring against us will prosper.
It is good to know that God is all-knowing.
That He is sovereign over every event in our lives.
It is His desire that we put our trust in Him alone.
It is the key to being a winner in this life.
But it will only happen when we have a true dependence on God.
Not on the traditions and ways of the world.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, there are so many superstitions in the world today. Many that can cause us to have fears and doubts. Into Your hands we lay all our fears. The ones that try to haunt us and make our paths difficult. They are not to have any place in our lives. We know that with You we can rest securely. Trusting in You for all our needs. We want to live right. To be found blameless before You. Thank You for the loving kindness and wisdom You give us. We are resting securely and putting our trust in You.
