Tempting Things Destroy – Life Better When Choosing Divine Things

Read: Genesis 3:1-8

And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

Genesis 3:6 KJV

There are many things we come in contact with on a daily basis.

Things that may not be good for us.

Too many people or things that can influence our lives.

It may be something we see on TV, listen to on the radio, or read in a magazine.

It could be something we desire to eat or drink.

It can be family, friends, or any person we have a conversation with.

It is important for us to realize that there are things that appear to be inviting and satisfying but are not good for us.

Not good because they have elements that are harmful to our lives.

They can cause us harm both physically and spiritually.

Satan always has a way of making things that are bad look pleasurable.

He is hiding that they are spiritual poisons.

That they are meant for our downfall.

His way of making us miss all the blessings the Father has for us.

That is what he did with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:1-5 KJV).

He encouraged them to transgress the Divine command told to them.

The one that told them not to eat “the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden” (v.3 KJV).

Their disobedience caused them to fall into sin and misery.

That is why the Father is telling us to guard ourselves against evil.

To be extremely careful about what we take into our bodies and into our minds.

Because what may seem really good may be something that is very harmful.

That is the lesson learned by Adam and Eve.

They really wished they had not listened to the serpent.

A prime example of what can happen in our lives.

We know what the Father has told us.

We must remain steadfast in the Word.

Constantly praying and worshiping.

Always asking the Lord to order our steps.

Asking Him to lead and guide us every day.

Showing that we desire Him to forever send us His anointing.

Giving Him praise for the victories we win.

It is the only way to defeat any influences of evil that come our way.

To show that greater is He that in us than he that is in the world.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we all have our moments when we transgress the Divine commands You have given us. Times when we let the things of this world, and others cause us to lose our way. We want to live for You and according to Your ways. We know that Word is the only way to guard ourselves against evil. Help us to keep our eyes turned toward Thee. We want to receive all the blessings You desire to give us.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
