The Bible First: The Most Powerful Voice of God

Today’s Reading: Romans 11:33-36

Today’s Verse: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. 2 Timothy 3:16 KJV

From an early age, we all have been taught the importance of reading.

To gain knowledge in different subjects.

We would listen to our parents and teachers.

Asking questions when we do not understand something.

In the end, using what we had learned.

In Biblical times, the Father spoke in many powerful ways.

He still speaks today, but His methods have changed.

We cannot expect Him to speak in an audible voice.

We cannot expect Him to send an angelic messenger every time.

But that does not mean that He does not have something to say to us.

We have to learn how to recognize His voice today.

The first way our Father speaks to us is through His written Word.

We have His complete revelation within the Bible.

Nothing is missing that He needs to add.

The Bible is not a book written by human beings.

God has already revealed His Word perfectly to those He had inspired to write it down.

The Holy Spirt of God literally breathed His truth upon the minds of certain men so they could record it.

The Word tells us, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16 KJV).

It is God’s way of speaking to our pressing needs, concerns, heartaches, and worries.

When trouble strikes, we often talk to our friends or a counselor.

We know this can be good, as the Father does speak through godly men and women.

But they may not always be there for us in a time of need.

Again, that is why the first place we should turn is to His Word.

Praying for the wisdom needed.

The Lord has given us this Book that we might know His way of thinking.

It requires us to consistently spend time in the Word.

Picking up the Bible only when we have a question, or an emergency keeps us from knowing what the Father wants to say to us.

What He has done and will do in our lives.

You know the saying, “What He has done for others, He will do for you.”

We need to learn the things of God and be assured of them.

Stay in the Holy Scriptures, for they are His Divine revelation.

The Scriptures are a collection of valuable things.

They are full of God’s thoughts.

Reading the Bible daily will produce a greater understanding of His truths.

A deeper understanding of who He is in our lives.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we know that the Bible is profitable for all purposes of the Christian life. It is of use for us all. There is something in the Scriptures regarding anything we face in life. We all need to be taught and corrected. May we learn to love the Bible all the more. Keeping it close in our hearts. Seeking all the benefits You have for us. Ones that lead to a life of happiness. Knowing it can only be found by faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The One who is the main subject of both Testaments. Thank You for all the blessings in our lives.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
