Read: 2 Corinthians 12:5-12 / Romans 8:22-27
For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:8,9 KJV
We will always have a time when we feel like the Lord is not going to answer our prayer.
In all His wisdom sometimes He does not.
But it is for a good reason.
Even Paul did not receive everything he asked for when he went before the throne of grace.
In this passage, he is giving us an account of the method that the Father took to keep him humble.
We are not told what the thorn in the flesh was.
Whether it was some great trouble or some great temptation.
Just that he was praying that it be removed.
But the thing that was troubling him was not removed.
Instead the Lord gave him grace to bear it.
He told him, “My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.”
With that knowledge Paul said, “Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” (2 Corinthians 12:8, 9 KJV).
The more we pray and feel we have not been heard; we are mistaken.
The father hears what we are asking, many times He is waiting on us to see things as He sees them.
Then and only then will we see God’s wisdom.
The reason He denied us the thing for which we had repeatedly been asking for.
He has a plan for our lives and will not give us the things that are against it.
Remembering that the Lord has told us, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways” (Isaiah 55:8 KJV).
So when He say no to us, He has a very good reason for not giving us what we asked for.
His grace will still cover our lives.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we often pray for things that You know will do us more harm than good. It is not for us to know the reason they may go unanswered. But to wait on Your grace to lift all the burdens that we bear. You will always bring the good out of something that is evil. Let us forever understand that You always have a very good reason for all that You do in our lives. Thank You for the love You always show us.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
