Today’s Reading: 1 Timothy 4:11-16
Today’s Verse: “Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.” 1 Timothy 4:13 KJV
Delays can sometimes slow down progress or hold back activities. Such setbacks can slow down progress or change how a process develops.
Paul knew that he would arrive late.
That is why he urged Timothy to oversee the meeting until he arrived.
This involved reading aloud the Old Testament in the church. A way of stirring up believer. A way to encourage them in faith. A way to offer comfort. A way of instructing in sound doctrine.
There is a need for Spiritual discipline and the need for personal growth in leadership.
This Scripture remains significant to this day.
It is a functional scripture.
Pastors and leaders should make God’s Word a priority. They should maintain their discipleship. They should base their preaching on scripture. It must be clear, evangelical, and practical. It should be well stated, explained, defended and applied.
Christians should study the Word. Share it with others. We should remain steadfast in spiritual tasks to make our progress evident.
Knowing it can lead to salvation of both the leadership and the listeners (1 Timothy 4:14-16 KJV).
Let us continue to read the scriptures. Remain committed to the ministry.
May every believer show his witness to all men.
May we seek to experience the power of the gospel in our own souls.
Bringing forth its fruits in our lives.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Heavenly Father, We thank You for Your Word. Help us to give attention to public reading, exhortation, and teaching. Giving us the ability to understand its truths. We honor You. We want our lives to be a clear reflection of the Word. A clear reflection of the love You have for us. We want to proclaim Your glory.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
