Exciting: When You Know Him, Life is Much Better

Today’s Reading: John 8:12-59

Today’s Verse: Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. John 8:58 KJV

We know that God determines the lifespan of every person (Job 14:5 KJV).

In the Bible we know that the people would live a considerable number of years.

The Bible tells us Methuselah died at the age of 969. He was considered the oldest person to live in those days.

We may not live as long as some in the Bible days, but we can still live a long life.

In a Peoples Magazine article, Tomiko Itooka, is a Japanese woman who was in the Guinness World Records as the oldest living person. She was born on May 23, 1908, and journeyed home on December 29, 2024. She was 116 years old.

Wikipedia has a list of the oldest living people. They are from all over the world. The oldest being 116 years old.

They had 343 rows in their listing.

It is amazing how many people are over 100 years old.

None of us know what our age will be when the Master calls us home.

What we do know is we will continue to live until our work on earth is done.

It is good to know that when it happens, our faith in Him will lead to a life everlasting.

Jesus made it possible.

The Bible tells us so.

He is the Alpha and Omega. The beginning and the end.

But there will always be someone who has trouble accepting this fact.

In this passage, Jesus was challenged by the Jewish religious leaders about His identity.

He had told them “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am” (John 8:48 KJV).

As our Mediator, He was the appointed Messiah. He is “the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world” (Revelation 13:8 KJV).

Our Savior was made of God’s Wisdom, Righteousness, Sanctification, and Redemption.

As a member of the Trinity, He had a right to make that claim.

However, everyone did not believe this about Him.

There were Pharisees and Jews that did not receive what He was saying. They did not have the faith of Abraham.

They were even about to stone Jesus for blasphemy. But they were not successful.

Jesus withdrew Himself by His miraculous power and passed through them (John 8:59 KJV).

But He did not give up in letting others know who He was.

Jesus even prayed in John 17:3 KJV, “And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”

He accomplished the mission by dying in our place and rising again.

Making it possible for our sins to be forgiven.

It is because of His sacrifice that we can anticipate a future not bound by time.

As long as we abide in Him, our age will have no bearing on the blessings we will receive.

There are so many great experiences ahead for us.

He is the “Great I Am.”

A timeless Savior, He is.

The Maker of all things.

As the song says, “When we all get to heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be! When we all see Jesus, we’ll sing and shout the victory!”

Our Heavenly Father will be giving the greatest party ever seen.

All who has taken the time to get to know Him is invited.

Heaven and earth adore Him. Angels bow before Him.

He is the great “I Am.”

Take the time to get to know Him.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we are heirs of Abraham’s faith. We are to boldly profess our belief in You. Acknowledging that You are the great “I Am.” Always rejoicing in the fact that one day when the Savior returns all glory will abound. Heaven will be our home. It will be a day of rejoicing. Thank You for being who You are in our lives. For giving Your only begotten Son so we could live a wonderful life. We are standing on the Word. Letting no one convince of anything else.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
