Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father. Galatians 1:3-4 KJV
Self-sacrifice is the freely giving up of one’s own interests or wishes in order to help someone else.
There are many who frown at the thought of being the one to do this.
Thankfully, there are many who do, and they want to encourage others to be self- sacrificing.
They see it as a way to advance the cause that demonstrates what it means to give out of love.
What it really means not to be the one who only gives with the hopes of getting something in return.
We all would like to hear a “Thank you,” or even get a smile, but it does not always happen.
The comfort comes in knowing that the Father sees it all and knows our heart.
Freely giving is what Jesus did for all of us.
He showed us what it really meant to be self-sacrificing.
He did it when He gave His life for us.
When He paid the penalty for our sins.
All so we could experience forgiveness and gain eternal life.
That is what the Apostle Paul acknowledged when he greeted the people (Galatians 1:3-4 KJV).
Blessing them with grace and peace from God the Father and from our Lord Jesus Christ.
He did not want them to forget about the sacrifice the Savior had made.
How He had given Himself for our sins that we might be delivered from the present evils of this world.
A way of reminding us that we are to follow the Savior’s lead and give unselfishly to others.
The Word has told us, “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again” Luke 6:38 KJV
Whatever our sacrifice, it will glorify the Lord.
We all can do it.
There is power in giving.
Especially when it is done from the heart.
It has a significant impact in a selfish world.
We all need something positive in our lives.
It is a win-win situation.
We have nothing to lose.
His desire is that we all be blessed.
Choose to be the one on the giving and receiving end.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Savior, we appreciate that You sacrificed Your life for us. You did not have to do it, but you did. It truly shows us what it means to be unselfish. To show love to those we come in contact with. Whether we know them or not. Your unselfish sacrifice is our motivation to live according to Your will and Your way. To sacrifice our lives for others. Thank You for all that You have done and will be doing in our lives.
