Read: John 10:1-18
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10 KJV
To be good at something means that a person is skilled and successful at doing it.
They are able, gifted, and talented.
All of us are good at something.
We were able to succeed in them because there is a place for each of us in God’s plan.
There will be times when someone or something will try to cause us to stray from our calling.
Causing us to forget that the Lord is the Good Shepherd.
The One who made all things possible.
That we are a part of His flock.
A flock that He loves.
A flock that He desires only the best for in the earthly and spiritual journeys we face in life.
He knows about everything we will come our way.
That when we face these situations, He is there for us.
Always warning us to be aware that the devil is constantly trying to find ways to ruin our lives.
The Savior has told us, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy (John 10:10 KJV).
That is his way of trying to convince us that material things are what matter most in our lives.
Giving the impression that the more we have and take credit for it, the better we are.
A way to make us forget where all our blessings are coming from.
Causing us not to give thanks to One who made it all possible.
There is only one way to have victory over the devil and what is trying to tell us.
It is to give thanks and honor where it is due.
By acknowledging that the Father has blessed us with everything we have.
It is by maintaining a right relationship with the Savior.
A relationship that affords us an abundant earthly life and an abundant heavenly life.
If a true abundant life were not possible, the Savior would not have promised to give it to all who put their trust in Him.
He has told us, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10 KJV).
We can enjoy this promised abundant life when we trust in the Lord.
When we take Him as our personal Savior.
The devil is defeated.
How great it is to know that we can have an abundant life that will never end.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Savior, we know You to be the Good Shephard. Sent by the Father to free us from sin and the works of Satan. We know that no matter what comes our way that You came so we could have life and have it more abundantly. You have chosen us to use what we have been blessed with to advance the kingdom. Thank You for helping us gain the knowledge needed to be victorious in all You have called us to do. To let others know that the most rewarding life never ends when we are living according to the Word.
In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
