Heartfelt Prayer – This is Where Amazing Blessings Are Found

Today’s Reading: Psalms 50:7-15

Today’s Verse: And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. Psalms 50:15 KJV

We all have troubling times. Times when we do not know how we will make itthrough.

Today’s verse tells us that during our times of distress, we can and should seek God. We can call on Him when we face any problems. He is the one who will rescue us.

He promises to be our Deliverer and Protector. Faithfully being there to rescue those who call on Him.

His Divine deliverance should lead to us giving Him glory. To honor Him. Showing that we have a thankful heart. That we recognize His power.

No matter what our status in life may be, it is important to rely on Him in difficult times. Depending on the promises of His faithfully being there. Giving Him worship and praise for all that He is doing.

We have other Scriptures that urge us to ask, seek, and trust God in all circumstances.

Philippians 4:6-7 KJV says, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Turning all our concerns to God through prayer leads to deep peace.

Matthew 7:7-8 KJV says, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”

Jesus was teaching that the active pursuit of God’s will is the way. Giving the assurance the He will answer those who come to Him with their needs.

James 4:2 KJV says, “Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.”

This verse encourages asking God for what is needed. Telling us that a lack of prayer can be a barrier to receiving God’s blessings. We cannot do things on our own.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 says, “Pray without ceasing.”

The Lord is encouraging us to stay in constant prayer. To keep this course of action despite our difficulties. Keeping our hearts and minds always connected to God.

The phrase “standing in the need of prayer” is a powerful expression of humility. It shows that we recognize our own dependence on God.

We realize the position we are in. We acknowledge that we cannot get through it on our own. We do not have the strength. We must rely on His Divine assistance. We get it through our prayers.

Praying. It is our personal and humble plea to God. Asking Him to be directly involved in changing our situations so we can fulfill His will.

Let us keep talking to God. Praying under trials. Praising Him for bringing us through them all.
