Today’s Reading: Psalms 73:21-28
Today’s Verse: My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever. Psalms 73:26 KJV
Life will have its moments. Moments when we feel like we are on an uninspired journey. There is a feeling of emptiness. We lack the motivation to do anything.
It is good to know that the Bible offers comfort and relief. Constantly reminding us that we are not alone in our struggles. That we have the power to press on in any situation.
In today’s reading we find that while our physical and emotional strength may decline, God remains a constant source of support.
The author, Asaph, had concerns regarding the prosperity of the wicked. About the struggles of the righteous.
It was troubling him greatly.
He questioned why the wicked seem to thrive while the godly suffer.
He acknowledged the reality that as humans we can be weak. Both physically and mentally. He recognized that his own flesh and heart could eventually fail him.
But through it all, he found peace. He knew that God was his strength. That He would remain steady and consistent. He would overcome any challenge.
He recognized God’s supreme power. He recognized God’s authority. That through faith, he could change his way of thinking about something. That he would have a better understanding.
He is showing us the importance of relying on God. That He is the ultimate source of wisdom and strength. We find satisfaction in a relationship with Him.
There are many Scriptures that encourage us to keep pressing toward a goal. Even when we are feeling down and out.
Isaiah 40:29-31 KJV talks about those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
Romans 8:28 KJV tells us that God works all things for the good of those who love Him.
Galatians 6:9 KJV speaks against us becoming weary in doing good. Promising a harvest if we do not give up.
Hebrews 10:24-25 KJV speaks about seeking support. How we can be an encouragement to one another. Not to give up on meeting together as believers.
Matthew 11:28-30 KJV tells us we can find rest in God. An invitation from the Savior to those who are weary and burdened. That we can always come to Him for rest. Finding that His yoke is easy and His burden is light.
Our earthly journey will bring times of difficulty. But remember, God is our constant companion. He is our source of strength.
Keep the faith.
The promises of God’s presence can be felt throughout any challenges.
God will always be our “Rock” or a “Refuge” in times of trouble.
We can make it through anything when we put our trust in Him.
As believers, let us continue to draw near to God.
Even when earthly things fail. The long-lasting nature of God’s love will always be. He is an ever-present help in the times of a storm.
He is our refuge and our strength in times of trouble.
“My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever” (Psalms 73:26 KJV).
He is always there for us. Trust and believe.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we know sin has no place in our lives. Let draw near and keep near to You. Let us keep an upright heart. Let our minds remain focused on the truths found in the Word. Putting all our trust in You. Through faith and prayer it can be done. Thank You for being the strength of my heart, and my portion forever.
In Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen
