This is Where Fear and Faith Found Powerful Together

Read: Hebrews 11:4-10 / Genesis 6:5-22

By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. Hebrews 11:7 KJV

Real-life issues of evil and violence fill the earth and can cause us to feel pressured to join the crowd.

There is no doubt that the more we look around and listen to the news, we conclude that people who are corrupt might outnumber those who are not.

It is a sign that says we should disregard and not fear what God’s Word has told us.

But this is far from the truth.

These are the same kind of conditions that occurred in the days of Noah.

The situation was even worse back then.

Noah was the only person who found favor with God.

Because he believed God, he took heed to His warnings about the flood that would destroy the world.

By faith, Noah knew God was serious.

He listened to what he was being told and prepared an ark as the Father had directed him to do.

His faith defeated the unbelief of others.

His faith defeated their disobedient and rebellious natures.

He received an abundance of blessings for his willingness to obey.

We know that good examples will either convert sinners or condemn them.

Noah is showing us two traits that should have major influence in guiding our lives.

He “was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God” (Genesis 6:9 KJV).

That “by faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith” (Hebrews 11:7 KJV).

This is not to say that he did not lower his head in fear.

He instead had a high regard and profound respect for a Holy, All-powerful God.

His example is one that shows how all believers, who have been warned by God to flee from the wrath to come, should be moved with fear.

Taking refuge in the Savior and the Word.

Becoming heir of the righteousness of faith.

We must ask ourselves, “Are we willing to obey God as Noah did, and take a stand against the evil in our world?”

I pray your answer will be “Yes.”

That you will show others how great it is to follow His lead.

Trusting and knowing, it will be well worth it in the end.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, there is no doubt that there are those that will try to convince us that we need to follow the paths of unrighteousness. When you make clear to us the purpose You have for our lives. May we realize there is not time to delay in putting things into place. How we need to get to work and listen to everything You are telling us to do. We will have our times of fear, but those are the times we have to remember You are in control. That there is nothing too hard for You and You will supply us with everything we need. You are mighty and we put our trust in You. Thank You for the wisdom and knowledge You give us.

In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
