Today’s Reading: Psalms 28
Today’s Verses: The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. Psalms 28:7 KJV
“Old school” gospel songs still play a great role in my life.
I remember a song by James Cleveland. It is titled, “God Is.”
This song is a declaration of faith.
The main part of the song says:
“God is the joy and the strength of my life.
He removes all pain, misery, and strife.
He promised to keep me.
Never to leave me.
He’ll never come short of His word.
I’ve got to fast and pray.
Stay in this narrow way.
Keep my life clean every day.
I want to go with Him when He comes back.
I’ve come to far.
And I’ll never turn back.
God is my all and all.”
This is how many of us feel today.
It relates to how the psalmist felt.

He sang songs that were a declaration of his faith.
Both acknowledge God’s strength and protection. About the resulting joy and gratitude that we experience. The trust we place in God. The resulting joy and gratitude that we all can experience. Our trust in God to be there for us.
Singing songs of praise because God is truly our all in all.
A WORD OF PRAYER
God is our protection. God is our Light in Darkness. God is our joy in the time of sorrow. God is Hope for tomorrow. He is our all in all. We give thanks to You God for all that You have done. For all that You are doing in our lives. For always being our source of strength and protection. There is none like You. No words could ever express how thankful we are. That is why daily we will sing songs of praise to You. Giving our lives to You, was the greatest decision we could ever make.
