Beautiful Our Triumph Over Evil with This Powerful Light

Today’s Reading: John 3:16-21

Today’s Verse: For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. John 3:20 KJV

Evil is the consequence of rejecting God and His goodness.

It comes in many forms.

It is anything that goes against the holy nature of God.

Any sinful act that causes us to go against what He has told us in the Word.

He knew there would be times when we would be tempted.

That is why the Father has told us, “Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good” (Romans 12:21 KJV).

Because “everyone who does evil hates the light” (John 3:20 NIV).

And every believer knows that “Jesus is the Light” (John 8:12 KJV)

In this passage Jesus is speaking about hearts that stay in the cover of darkness.

How they do it to hide what they are doing (John 3:19-20 KJV).

He is not calling attention to our desire to cover up anything or to condemn us.

He is offering us salvation through Him (John 3:17 KJV).

The Father has made Jesus the Good Shepherd of our hearts.

Allowing Him to bring the worst of our human nature to light to show us how much He loves us (John 3:16 KJV).

Giving us a chance to change our ways.

His desire is that we all live a life of holiness.

Letting nothing take control of our lives that will lead us in the wrong direction.

The Father in His mercy is calling us out of darkness.

Our faith shows that Christ’s light shine brightly in our lives.

Making it where sin’s darkness is defeated.

When darkness tries to take over our lives, let us stand on His promise.

“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life” (John 8:12 KJV).

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, You have called us out of darkness, into Your marvelous Light. Making it where sin is not to have any control in our lives. We have the power to defeat anything evil that comes our way. Thank You for Jesus, who is the Light that shines brightly in our lives. For the Holy Spirit that helps us to walk in obedience to Your Word. Let us continue to allow You to lead and guide us in all that we do this day.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
