Worry is a state of anxiety and uncertainty over actual or potential problems.
It is one of the most useless and non-productive pastimes anyone can engage in.
In this context, Jesus uses birds to show why we should not worry about our food.
How they do not plant or harvest crops, yet our Heavenly Father feeds them.
They are His creation, but we are His children.
If God takes care of His creation, how much more will He take care of His children?
Our Heavenly Father sees to it that both the body and the spirit of His children are fed.
The net effect is that you are getting your mind off of worldly things and on God.
A WORD OF PRAYER
God, just like the birds You have given us life. All the more, given us a body and has given us a soul. You have provided for us food and clothing. The food that we need to nourish our bodies physically and spiritually. The clothing we need to shelter us from all the elements of life. Thank You for watching over us and making sure we are fed.
