“Bridal Your Tongue” – This is Very Important in Life

Read: Proverbs 21:20-26 / James 3

Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles. Proverbs 21:23 KJV

This passage of Scriptures teaches a good lesson.

In which the instructions. at times, can be hard to follow.

But we must.

There will be times when the situation we face gets the better of us.

We forget about the need to think before we speak.

Wise is the person who knows what to say but when not to say it.

The Word has told us, “Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles” (Proverbs 21:23 KJV).

We should always be concerned about our salvation.

Always keeping our souls from being caught up in situations that will be difficult to escape from.

Where we constantly let feelings of anxiety and worry have control, they ruin our lives.

James recognized how an uncontrolled tongue had the power to cause great destruction (James 3 KJV).

He even likened the tongue to a little fire that set a great forest ablaze (James 3:6 KJV).

He is telling us to take great caution against proud behavior.

Warning us about the mischief caused by an unruly tongue.

Encouraging us to desire the excellence of heavenly wisdom.

Which can always be found in the Word.

The Word is the greatest weapon we have.

It gives us victory when we battle the things of this world.

May we continue to read and learn a lesson from the wise.

Helping us to know when to hold our tongue.

The only way to keep the wrong words from crossing our lips.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Heavenly Father, we know there will be times when we feel we have had enough. Times when we speak first before thinking. Let us remember that You have told us to guard our tongue. It is way we stay out of trouble. That we are wise when we know what to say but when not to say it. Thank You for the Word. For helping us to learn a lesson on how to hold our tongues and not let them slip.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
