The Most Powerful Conversations with Him Makes Life Better

Today’s Reading: Genesis 16:1-13

Today’s Verse: And she called the name of the LORD that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me? Genesis 16:13 KJV

Good friendships go a long way. They have great meaning.

It is always a great feeling when we support and encourage each other.

We have a sense of peace and well-being.

The loving feeling shows we see each other’s hopes, fears, struggles, and dreams.

That is how Hagar, a slave in Abram’s household felt Genesis 16:1-13 KJV).

It happened after many years of Sarai and Abran still longing to have a child but could not.

Sarai, following the custom of the culture, told her husband to conceive through Hagar.

However, when Hagar became pregnant, she treated Sarai with disrespect.

And when Sarai mistreated her in return, Hagar fled far away into the desert.

An angel of the Lord found Hagar by a fountain of water in the wilderness.

The angel questioned what she was doing and why she was there.

She was filled with pain and confusion.

She told the angel about her situation.

After her response, the angel of the Lord told her to, “Return to thy mistress, and submit thyself under her hands.”

That the Lord would bless her with the promise of being the mother of many descendants.

After her encounter with angel, Hagar knew she was not alone or abandoned.

She did as she was told.

And she received the blessings the angel had told her about.

We are seen and loved in the same manner.

When we feel ignored or rejected, remember the Father sees faces.

He knows who we are and what we need.

He knows all the secret feelings and fears that come into our lives.

The Lord will always try to stop us in our sinful ways.

He will always speak the words that will bring us life.

Our encouragement comes in knowing that God sees us.

That He will always give us comfort and confidence.

We are never to run from our sins. They will only lead down the path of trouble.

When we trust and believe in what the Savior says things will always work out for our good.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Savior, we all have our problems in life. Understanding who we are will teach us what we should be doing. And just as You saw Hagar in her distress, we know You see all who hurt. Those that are feeling oppressed and are afraid. We are thankful that You will always send us the help and encouragement that we need. Thank You for the comfort and confidence You give.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
