Today’s Reading: James 4:1-10
Today’s Verse: “Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.” James 4:2 KJV
It is not a secret that we all have a desire for something. We get angry when we cannot have them. We quarrel and fight. Some even kill out of greed. Yet we remain without because we fail to ask God for what we need. For His help and provisions (James 4:2 KJV).
We often act due to selfish motives. A cycle that leads to a wrongful desire for something that belongs to someone else. It can be for something that we should not have. We rely on our own efforts or worldly means instead of God.
But we must ask in faith. Leaning and depending on God.
“Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts” (James 4:3 KJV).
Many of our prayers go unanswered because of wrong motives. God does not grant requests of selfish pleasure.
We must submit ourselves to God (James 4:7 KJV). We must submit our undertaking to His truth. We must submit our wills to His Divine command and instructions. His way will always be our guide to living a righteous life.
Let us submit ourselves to God, He is always ready to do us good. To keep us on the path of righteousness.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we know if we yield to temptations, the devil will continually follow us. Always there to lead us on the wrong path. But if we put on the whole armour of God, and stand out against him, he will leave us. We can always submit ourselves to You. We can always seek Your grace and favor. Your Word is our greatest weapon in resisting the devil. We want to win the fight against corrupt affection, and the love of this world, Thank You for being our guide.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
