Our Words

Read: Matthew 12:33-37

For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. Matthew 12:37 KJV

What we say reveals who we are.

They unmask the true condition of our hearts.

The heart is the main organ that pumps the blood through our bodies, giving us life.

When our blood begins to clot, it can stop the flow and we could lose our life.

It is wonderful to know that there are measures we can take to ensure this does not happen.

The same holds true with our spiritual lives.

Jesus told us we would be judged by the words we speak.

The heart is the fountain from which our words flow.

When the fountain is troubled, the flow is corrupted.

Causing us to have a heart filled with self-centeredness.

Leading us to behave in a bad or improper way.

Just like there is a remedy for handling blood clots, the Lord has a remedy for a heart filled with self-centeredness.

The measures we must take requires us to heed to the Word.

Making it possible for us to have a true heart that is filled with a love for God.

We will have a life filled with words of honesty, gratefulness, encouragement, and concern for others.

Let us keep a constant watch over how we handle ourselves.

Making sure that we speak words that are agreeable with what the Lord has told us.

No one wants to be condemned of the Lord.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, let our words today reflect our love for You. Showing that Christ is living in us. That our words would justify us in a positive way and not condemn us.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
