The story of the disciples on the storm-tossed sea and their deliverance still has true meaning for us today.
We can sometimes be off course on the sea of life, but all will be well if we allow Jesus to be in the boat with us.
Christ was asleep in the storm, to try the faith of his disciples, and to stir them up to pray.
Their faith appeared weak, and their prayers strong.
When we lack faith, God will often appear to be distant and unconcerned as though He were asleep.
When our wicked hearts are like the troubled sea which cannot rest and our passions are out of control, we must fix our eyes on the Almighty One.
Then, and only then, will there be a restfulness and peace that only His grace can provide.
Faith and fear take their turns while we are in this world.
Just know that our fear will be overcome when we pray and don’t lose sight of our faith.
Granting us the peace that Jesus desires for each of us.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, when life makes us feel we are on a storm-tossed sea and fear tries to overtake us, may we remember that You are with us. That as Your child all we have to say is, “Peace, be still,” and there will be a great calm. Thank You Savior.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
