Many of us have found prayer to be strenuous and confusing at times.
Real prayer can be tough. Especially when you find yourself in difficult situations.
Prayer was the heart of our Lord’s work.
He showed us that prayer is the preparation for any battle we might face.
The Lord made atonement for our sins when He submitted Himself in a garden of suffering, to the will of God.
He knew things were about to get rough and prayed that, if possible, the cup might pass from Him.
That He didn’t have to go any further with the pain and sufferings.
But He also showed His perfect readiness to bear the load if that was what God, the Father, meant for Him to do.
That is what He took further.
If that was the only way to free us from sin and show others that they had the strength to endure anything, He would do it.
He was willing to submit to it all for our redemption and salvation.
With this example Christ was showing us that sometimes we must drink of the bitterest cup which God puts into our hands.
We may not like what we are going through, but in the end, we come out victorious.
Making us even more determined to get troubles sanctified, our freedom from sin, and our hearts satisfied under them, than to just get them taken away.
That prayer is our best communication with God to get an understanding, grow stronger and build the courage needed to endure.
Specially to know that our salvation is in the hand of the One who neither slumbers nor sleeps. He is with us at all times.
There is no doubt, that our Lord had a clear and full view of the sufferings He was to endure, yet He spoke with the greatest calmness till this time.
He was made sin for us and suffered for our sins.
The Just for the unjust.
We may not know exactly how we should act in very difficult situations, if we were left to ourselves.
Loved ones and friends don’t always have the answers to our struggles.
What we do know is, we must continually pray and rely wholly on the Lord. He is there to guide us no matter what we are going through.
“Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.“ (1John 4:4 KJV)
That is why prayer changes things.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Heavenly Father, sometimes we struggle to pray and forget the importance of what it means to pray. You sent Your Son to show us that no matter what we are going through, You are there. That we can come to You in prayer no matter the day or the hour. That You are listening and will respond. We are grateful.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
