As believers there are times, we are around others and because of inappropriate conversations we know we don’t fit in. We politely excuse ourselves because our beliefs are not the same.
The prophet Malachi acknowledges that believers during his time faced the same challenges. There was to be a distinction between the righteous and the wicked.
When the true believers had returned from exile and the temple had been rebuilt, there was doubt as to the truth of God’s plan for their lives.
There were some who felt it was futile to serve God. That there was nothing to be gained. That evildoers were prospering, even when they put God to the test and got away with things.
Those that feared the Lord, spoke kindly, for preserving and promoting mutual love, when sin thus abounded.
We don’t have to blend or fit in. We should respond just like the faithful in Malachi’s day.
They spoke one to another, in the language of those that fear the Lord, and think on his name.
They responded to the challenge by staying acquainted with like-minded believers. True believers that knew the Lord was there for them, despite what others had to say.
This is our way of encouraging one another. Reminding one another that the Lord listens and hears what we are saying to one another.
The Lord sees and cares for all who fear and honor Him.
He hasn’t called on us to “fit in”, but to draw closer to Him each day. Especially as we see the need to encourage each other.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, our faith is always being tested. Help us to keep encouraging one another to stay faithful to You when we encounter those whose faith is not strong. Showing that we must stay faithful to and trust in You.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
