A sharp tongue can dull a Christian’s witness. We must be careful of what we speak.
The Apostle James had the wisdom of Solomon and always spoke honestly to the people.
When it came to religion, he let them know that even if a person claimed to be religious, if their religion did not change their lives, it was worthless. Especially if they do not control their tongue, what they spoke and how it was spoken.
The same holds true to this day.
As believers, a sharp tongue can hinder our witnessing to others. The words we speak may give the impression we think more highly of ourselves than the person we are speaking too.
If we truly believe in the Word, we know how to handle ourselves in all situations and to speak accordingly, and in an appropriate manner.
We don’t want anyone to think that to believe in Christ would be in vain because of our actions.
The Lord knows we all can speak. He is looking at our ability to mind how and what we say.
Christianity teaches us to be joyful in all troubles and to exhibit God’s patience and love in all things.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, no matter our trials, let us open our ears and hearts to learn what the Father is teaching us by them. So that if we would govern our tongues, control our passions to speak and let the work of patience be completed in our lives. Giving us all that is necessary for our Christian race and warfare. The faith that worketh by love, purifies the heart, subdues carnal lusts, and obeys God’s commands.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
