ACCOLADES

Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus: Who have for my life laid down their own necks: unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles.  Romans 16:3-4 KJV

We can all find ourselves in need of assistance and to receive assistance is a blessing, but to be in a position to help someone else is an even greater blessing.

These blessings can come in many forms: Assisting by opening the door for someone whose hands are full; assisting someone with setting up a room for a meeting that’s starting in a few minutes; assisting by pointing someone who is lost in the right direction; even dropping anything you are doing and running to aid someone in need, whether you know them or not.

The list could go on and on.  The bottom line is, we cannot do everything on our own, we all need help sometime.

The sacrifices we make are a blessing to many.

Paul gave the prime example of this when he said: “Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus: Who have for my life laid down their own necks”.

They laid aside anything they had planned to do at that time and assisted Paul.

They could have ignored him, a total stranger, but because they believed in helping someone in need, they didn’t.

Paul was thankful for this, as we all should be when we receive help from someone else.

We are blessed to be a blessing.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, we thank you for giving us the ability to help one another, especially strangers.  We never  know what help we or someone we know may need. Thank you for using Paul as a prime example of letting everyone who comes to our aid know how much we appreciate their help.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen
