Things To Consider

Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways. Haggai 1:7 KJV

How long has it been since any of us have read the book of Haggai?  I know for me it has been a while. Let’s take a look.

God was speaking to the Israelites after they returned from being barred from their native country.  To consider their ways.

He basically was reminding them of the state they were in.  They didn’t have enough to eat. Their clothing was not keeping them warm. They weren’t prepared.

He had ordered them to rebuild His house and when they did, their blessings would come.

Just like the Israelites, we have a tendency to think wrongly of discouragements in our duty.

Because things aren’t going the way we want, we feel as if we were dismissed from our obligations, when it is actually a test and trial of our courage and faith.

The Lord is telling us to consider our ways.  That when we do, that is when our blessings will come.

Many good works have been intended, but not done, because we think the proper time has not come.

We let sins delay the concerns of our souls, till it is too late. Letting opportunities of usefulness slip by.

Don’t let our labor be in vain, but a labor that glorifies the name of the Lord and leads to eternal life.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Dear God, we  know You have a work for us to do and that You will make us fit to do it. Some of us have lost time and need to redeem it.  Meet us with Mercy and Grace Father, so we no longer put things off. Let us return to You with all our heart, while there is still yet time.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
