Words can be twisted to give the meaning that someone, or we ourselves, desires to hear.
Promises can be made to calm or soothe the heart and seduce the soul.
Many people alter the Scriptures to make It say what they want it to mean for their purposes, not for what God was truly telling us.
The Jews in Berea were serious about studying the Word. They not only heard Paul preach, but daily searched the Scriptures, and compared what they read to what they had heard.
Those that are not speaking truthfully will fear this daily search. But God does not fear because He knows His Word is True.
That is why we, just like the Berean’s that Paul encountered, must realize the importance in our thinking, praying, and struggles with any difficulties we encounter.
Understanding the Truth makes the Scriptures our rule, and we should read and search through them daily.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, man’s words can be twisted. But Yours is forever True. May all the hearers of the gospel become like those of Berea, receiving the word with readiness of mind, and searching the Scriptures daily. So that we may all know whether the things preached to us are so. Let us be more noble.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
