Josiah, the king, is read the book of the law.
God’s commandments. His divine rules. The Bible.
In those days, when the Israelites sinned, to show how sorry they were, they would cut up their clothes.
This was their way of showing God how sorry they were for their actions. Their way to show repentance.
That is what Josiah did.
The reading of the Word caused him to become a better person.
When we read this, we may not have to cut up our clothes, but we do have to acknowledge what the Lord is saying and from our hearts truly repent of our sins.
The Bible is the daily bread we must feed on.
The more we listen, the more we learn, the more we progress
Causing us to be and do better.
Granting us peace with God and a destiny of divine glory.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Heavenly Father, let us not be afraid to see what is in Your Holy Book. But to read and learn about all that You desire for us. From the bottom of our hearts, we rent our clothes and vow to follow You. Knowing that if we live by the Word, we have a glorious spot with You in Heaven.
