When building a house, high quality materials are needed when constructing the foundation.
It helps a house stand straight and tall for years to come.
The same holds true when choosing the additional materials used to build the rest of the house.
They should be of high quality also.
That is the warning the Apostle Paul was giving us when he used the example of building.
That even though we have made Jesus Christ the foundation of our faith, we can still build a poor superstructure.
That Jesus Christ is the only foundation, and everyone should take heed as to whether what he builds on it can stand the test of time.
Will we pass the fire test?
When the structure, our spiritual body, is corrupted.
Allowing sin to be a part of it.
Our state of being complete is flawed and can be destroyed.
We do not pass the test.
It is like a fire being started and letting it destroy all that we have worked for.
But when we abide by the Word, we are made complete.
We may be faced with circumstances that try to change our spiritual structure.
But because Jesus is our firm foundation and we are abiding by His Word, our superstructure passes every test.
Our lives, are built on purity, faithfulness and the ability to remain steadfast in the Word.
A fire may start, but it is quickly put out.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Heavenly Father, we know we need to consider the outcome of our undertakings and compare them with Your Word. Ensuring that we are making the right decisions to avoid igniting any unwanted fires in our lives. Thank You for Jesus being the firm foundation in our lives.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
